1022 Maryland Ave. NE is was built as a multi-family house in 1929. Sasha Bruce House currently owns the house, and runs it as a short-term shelter for youths. This door is on the 11th St. side of the building.
The Apostolic Faith Church is at 1227 Maryland Avenue NE.
Peabody Elementary School, at 425 C St. NE, is in the process of modernization. It was built in 1880, and was the largest school building in the area at that time. It is red brick with trim in bluestone. An unusual feature of the design is a 4th story recessed penthouse, used as an auditorium.
