The American Security and Trust Company, at 1501 Pennsylvania Avenue, was completed in 1902. The architectural firm was Young and Sawyer, who also designed the Riggs National Bank building next door. The two buildings are in similar neo-classical styles and abut together to look like they are just one building.
The Treasury Department is across the street, and on the former $10 bill, the columns of the American Security and Trust Company can be seen in the background.
