1720 Massachusetts Avenue NW

1720 Massachusetts Avenue NW was built in 1930, and is a large rowhouse with 12,000 sq. ft. The building is the home of the Congressional Black Caucus, the institution for African-American U.S. Representatives and Senators, with its stated goal to be the “the premier research and educational institution dedicated to advancing the global black community” (quoted from their website). The Congressional Black Caucus was founded in 1971, from a predecessor organization begun in 1969.
