1355 U St. NW

1355 U St. NW is the former Republic Gardens, which operated at this building from the 1920’s until it closed in 2007. Republic Gardens was one of the main jazz sites in the historic U St. corridor, hosting performers such as Cab Calloway, and Pearl Bailey worked there as a dancer. Built in 1920 with 8,000 square feet, it is located right near the corner of 14th and U St., a major nightlife area. It is currently available for sale for $3.2 million.
