The Carpenters Building, at 1003 K St. NW, was constructed in 1926 for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 132. At the time, it was the largest building in the country that was owned by a local union. The building is eight stories, made of brick with limestone in the Colonial Revival style. The architect was O. Harvey Miller.
