700 A St. NE

This church, at the corner of 7th and A St. NE, was built in about 1900 in the Romanesque Revival style. It was originally the Unity of Washington church. In 2011, Unity sold the church to the Worldwide Mission Society Church of God. The new church wanted to remove the stained glass windows for religious reasons, and the Historic Review Board denied the request because of the pre-existing condition of being in a historic district.
