H.D. Cooke Elementary School

H.D. Cooke Elementary School is at 2525 17th St. NW, in Adams Morgan.  It is a red-brick building with stone trim,  built in 1909 with an additional classroom wing added in 1959.  Extensive renovations to the historic building were completed in 2010.  After the renovations, the building was the first D.C. school to achieve LEED Gold certification
