This building was originally the Lincoln Westmoreland II apartments, set up as affordable housing under Section 8. In 2013, at the end of 20 years, the Section 8 classification expired and the owner decided not to renew, but instead to re-brand it as luxury apartments under the name Heritage Station at Shaw. The existing tenants had the option of staying in the building at their current rates or using Section 8 vouchers to rent elsewhere.
The building is at 1711 8th St. NW, on the corner of 8th and S St. These doors are on the S St. side of the building.
