1011 L St. NW was built in 1957 by the Chinese Community Church. The church owned the property next door at 1007, which was built in 1901 and purchased by the church in 1935. The newer church at 1011 L St. was designed to provide for the growing church community.
In 2008, the church moved to a larger building at 5th and I. The Morrison Inn, which was next door to the church, purchased the property and expanded around it in 2013, preserving its facade of the church and turning it in to the main entrance of the hotel.
