611 N Street NW was built as a police station in the 1990’s. It has been occupied by New Transitions, a D.C. government transitional facility for women, since 1988. It was renovated in 2012, reusing the foundation but creating a striking multi-color facade, and using extensive recycled materials for economy while transforming the building into a LEED silver certified building. This door is on the parking lot side of the building.
